Chris Kenny is the Associate Athletic Director at Saint Michael’s College (NCAA II), responsible for all external affairs, NCAA compliance, and six varsity sports programs.  He has more than 20 years of experience in college athletics marketing, public relations, and administration.

Kenny earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from Saint Michael’s.  After spending two seasons as public relations/community relations administrator for the AA Eastern League Vermont Reds and Reading Phillies minor league baseball teams, he returned to his alma mater to be the College’s Sports Information Director, a position he held for eight years. 

Following his term as the school’s SID, he served for two years as Director of Athletic External Affairs before being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director. A well-known face around the Saint Michael’s campus, Kenny is a member of several committees both on campus and in the outer realm of college athletics. He is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators, and the National Association of Athletics Compliance Coordinators.  He recently completed a four-year term on the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Committee, and currently serves on the NCAA Men’s Tennis Regional Advisory Committee.

He also chairs the SMC Hall of Fame Committee and the Block M Committee, which rewards current student-athletes for their successes on and off the playing field. He is a member of the College’s Athletic Task Force, Athletic Advisory Council, Judicial Review Board, and Strategic Identity Committee.

Kenny is also an active volunteer in the Burlington community.  He serves on the Vermont State Sports Council, and is also a member of the Board of Directors for Leadership Champlain.  He volunteers for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, a summer camp for children with cancer, after serving on the organization’s Board of Directors for ten years, and is involved with youth sports programs as a volunteer coach.  He is also the Executive Director of the Robert J. Kenny Memorial Golf Tournament (The Kenny Classic), which endows camping scholarships and capital projects for the Clara Barton Camp for girls with diabetes.

Kenny resides in Essex Junction, Vermont with his wife, Lisa, and their daughters, Jillian and Molly.
